Movie plot
During World War II, two intelligence officers adeptly employed the use of a dead body and real documents in order to successfully deploy an elaborate deception plan - codenamed Operation Mincemeat - on the German military. Working closely together with British military scientists, their clever ploy was successful in deceiving German forces about Allied deployments in the Mediterranean and resulted in ultimately influencing strategy in this theatre of war. This covert intelligence operation demonstrated the effectiveness of false information when served with a compelling story, proving that even amongst sophisticated adversaries, misdirection can be employed to advantage.
